Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Media Creation Tool, the official tool that enables you to download the latest Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft usually downloads ISO files without any issues.

However, at times, you might get an error while downloading the ISO image file. The error is “There was a problem downloading some files. We weren’t able to download all of the necessary files. Check to make sure you’re connected to the internet and try running the tool again. Error code: 0x80072EE7 – 0x90018”.

There was a problem downloading some files

If you are also getting the above error while downloading Windows 10 ISO image, you can use the following solutions to download the ISO image without the error.

Solution 1 of 6

Try running Media Creation Tool again

If you got the error when you tried downloading the ISO for the first time, please try running the tool again. More often than not, running the Media Creation Tool again fixes the issue.

Solution 2 of 6

Make sure you are running the new Media Creation Tool

Microsoft updates the Media Creation Tool soon after it releases a feature update to Windows 10. If you are running the Media Creation Tool downloaded a while back, please download the latest version of the Media Creation Tool by visiting this page of Microsoft and run the same again.

Also, it could be possible that the Media Creation Tool file itself is corrupted. So, please download a fresh copy of the program and run it again.

Solution 3 of 6

Check if your internet connection is stable

Sometimes, the error appears if your PC randomly loses the internet connection. It’s a good idea to make sure that the internet connection is stable before running the tool again.

If you have any internet connectivity issues, right-click on the network icon in the system tray of the taskbar and then click Troubleshoot problems option to run the built-in network troubleshooter to address the network issue.

Solution 4 of 6

Check if your disk has enough free space

More often than not, we forget to the check the available disk space on the drive before beginning to download a huge file. The Windows 10 32-bit ISO is close to 3 GB in size, and the 64-bit ISO is 3.6 GB. So, make sure that the drive where you are trying to the save the ISO image has at least 4 GB of free disk space.

Solution 5 of 6

Use a different USB drive

If you got the error when you selected your USB drive to save the ISO image, please try selecting a different USB drive or select a location on the internal drive of your PC as the USB drive might have issues or write protection.

Solution 6 of 6

Manually download the ISO from Microsoft

You can download the Windows 10 ISO right from Microsoft without using the Media Creation Tool as well. Please refer to the directions in our how to download Windows 10 ISO without the Media Creation Toolarticle for step-by-step directions.
